Project Caring Cards

“Caring Cards” are individually hand-made cards created during the COVID19 outbreak for geriatric hospital residents, hospital patients, doctors, nurses, and other front line hospital staff. The cards are meant to uplift, comfort, and inspire patients. They also aim to recognize, thank, and praise nurses, doctors, & other hospital personnel.

The Process

By the end of my 11-week project, I had supplies distribution and card collection down to a science. The process began with contacting my volunteers to pitch the idea and gain consent.

Asha's Inspiration

Friday, March 13th, the day Mayfair High School was closed due to COVID19, sent waves of fear and uncertainty through me. All that everyone was talking about and texting about was CORONAVIRUS. The number of hospitalizations and deaths due to COVID-19 quickly skyrocketed. It was all overwhelming!
